Top 10 Text Marketing Ideas for Salons and Spas

by Michael Armstrong · 1 comment

Salon Spa Text Message Marketing Text marketing for salons and text marketing for spas is the newest, most cost-effective way to market your services, serve your existing clientele and increase traffic through your doors. Below are ten ways to use text marketing to benefit your salon or spa.

1. Implement a QR code - QR stands for Quick Response, because that is what a smartphone user will get by scanning one. A QR code can be embedded onto anything in your salon, such as the mirrors, and then be scanned by your clients. Once a client scans your QR code and opts in for text messaging, you will have their cell phone number to use for other text messaging campaigns.

2. Set up your QR code to link to your spa website - Once this is done, clients who scan the code will be taken directly to your website where you can offer special pricing or deals as a reward.

3. Print up signage for around your city or town, and include the QR code. Potential customers can scan the code, go directly to your website and see information such as available appointments, prices and services offered.

4. Attract more use of your QR code by including “Scan our code for special offers!” directly underneath the code.

5. If you haven’t already, establish monthly or weekly specials on services or products, and then alert your clients by sending out bulk SMS messages. Clients simply bring in their phone with the offer on the screen in order to redeem it.

6. Link your spa’s QR code to your Facebook page, where clients can “like” your page and be registered for prize drawings such as a free service or deal on multiple services.

7. A great use for text messaging is to remind scheduled clients of their upcoming appointments. This has been shown to cut down on the number of no shows, reducing the time that stylists are idle and increasing the money coming in.

8. If a no show occurs, utilize SMS messaging to alert other clients about the opening. Because of the quick response garnered by texting, it is easy to fill that time with other clients who may be anxious to get in right away.

9. Got a new stylist in your salon, or a new nail artist at your spa? Help your new employee get established by sending out a bulk text message to your existing clients, introducing the new stylist or nail artist, and offering specials for scheduling an appointment with them.

10. Keep track of your clients’ birthday's send them a Happy Birthday text with a promotion or discount that can be redeemed anytime during their birthday week.

Hi Michael, it is a nice post. I think all of the ideas are very useful and the QR code idea seems very impressive to me. But we should avoid frequent messaging to our customers. We ought to maintain the limit, so that they are not bothered…. And I expect more nice posts like this from you!!
